Can I switch usernames between accounts?

  I have 2 WP accounts, and I’d like to switch the username of these 2 accounts.

  I’ve read somewhere that seems to suggest that WP usernames, once used, is forever occupied, even if that user changes to another username. Is this true? Does this mean that it would be impossible to switch usernames between accounts?
