Can I tell who edited a page?
-
I recently started a blog for my book club. I gave each member Editor status so they can update their own pages (I asked them to not edit other pages). But it seems they’re already taking liberties and editing other’s pages.
Can I tell who is doing the editing? Or, is it possible to limit an Editor’s rights to certain pages?

There is no way that I know of for the admin to know who edited a particular page or post. You can only see who was the original author of it and the fact it was edited.
I do have one question though…do you mean they are editing “pages” or “posts”? If posts then I would make them all authors since authors are able to only edit posts they created and not others. The reason I ask is because Authors are only able to create and edit posts…not pages. You can read up some on the FAQ page here for more info:
I think it’s a great idea and you might want to send in a feedback to staff suggesting this idea. They could show the person who edited a post or page on the Your Stuff section of your dashboard.

Yes, that’s a great idea. The potential for drama with anonymous edits is limitless, as Wikipedia knows.

Thanks for the replies… yes I was talking about pages. I gave each of them their own “About me” page with the idea that they could update that as they wanted. I debated between Author and Editor status and opted for the latter b/c I didn’t want to be burdened with updating each of their pages on their whims… I might have to re-think that! ;)

Ok makes more sense now. Yeah I’m sorry but right now author’s cannot create pages nor can you see who edits items. I would still send in a feedback to staff and see what happens. And for anyone else reading this and likes the idea…send in a feedback as well. Posting here does not count as a vote. :)
