Can I test the custom design features even though I purchased it already?

I purchased the custom design without testing and now confused as to what it does and how to do it. I thought I was purchasing the ability to increase the fonts I could use and colors I could use like I do when doing a new post ie: selecting icons on the page you do the post. But now I see it’s not that. So I guess I’m asking if there is any way I could test how things are done without involving changes to my blog site?? I read a lot of information but I need to do ‘hands on’ to understand it… Thanks Diane R.

  • Hi Diane – I see that you’ve now picked some different fonts. Wonderful! You can also change the font sizes in the same place; you’d adjust the numbers that are in the little boxes:

You can also change the font colors with CSS, but it involves editing the CSS; there’s not an option for color in the fonts tab.

Feel free to play with the colors and fonts in the Customizer – you can see how they look on your site, and if you don’t like it, just click “Cancel” instead of “Save” at the bottom of the customizer.

You can read more about these tools here:

If that’s too complex, you can use the color and font tools without knowing any CSS. :)

I’ll look at the links you gave except I don’t even understand anything about CSS and so I won’t try and do anything with it…

I would have tested but when I clicked to do the custom design from my dashboard it didn’t give me the option to test…

Oh well … I guess when you’re in the ‘senior’ age bracket there is only so much one can follow…It was a big step back in 2011 to even try doing a blog…

I do like the new text though … Thanks for your help Diane

  • Hi Diane – No problem! If you change any fonts or colors, you don’t need a test option. You’ll be able to see how it looks, but you don’t have to save it. If you don’t like it, just hit cancel and the one’s you had will be preserved. :)

Yes I went and did what you said… so I can change it anytime I like if I want to something else… that is what I had been wondering or if I needed to leave it once I changed it …. thanks again..Diane

  • Hi Diane – Yep, you can change it anytime, as often as you like. :)
