Can I transfer a domain name to WordPress?
-
I’m considering upgrading to the Pro version and letting my website hosting elsewhere lapse, but my domain is currently a “memememe.com.au” because I’m in Australia and all my email addresses are also “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”.
If I upgrade to Pro, can I somehow redirect stuff going to my current email addresses?
Sorry- I’m not sure what I’m asking here, but I’m trying to figure out if letting my existing website hosting deal (provided by the same people who sold me the domain name) lapse is going to stuff everything up, particularly email addresses…
Cheers for any advice

WordPress.COM is not set up to transfer domain names into it’s system. You will need to have your domain name registered outside WordPress.COM
You can map (memememe.com.au) to a blog here, but you will need to have a zone record added for the mapping to work.

Thanks guys, slowly getting my head around this! But it looks like I’ve found someone who’ll painlessly and cheaply fix the problem for me. Otherwise, I reckon the WordPress Pro is a good option.
Cheers!
