Can I transfer my domain to WordPress?

  I already own my domain through a third-party domain registrar which I registered several years ago. What I need is for my existing WordPress blog (www.newheightsaviation.wordpress.com) to have my domain’s URL (simply http://www.newheightsaviation.com).

  Can I possibly transfer the domain to WordPress? If so, I feel like that would be easiest. I have the authorization code and it is unlocked.

  If I cannot transfer to WordPress, should I just continue to register the domain with GoDaddy for another few years and map my blog to the URL? If so, do I need to purchase hosting with GoDaddy or is the domain registration sufficient?

  WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers. You’ll have to renew your domain with your present registrar and use the domain mapping upgrade to use it with your WordPress.com site.
