Can I turn off RSS feeds?
-
I haven’t yet thoroughly explored this site, I’m trying to make a short cut by putting this question here. I was blogging at another site and found that my blog content was being used through an RSS feed provider to store and distribute my content without my knowledge, and nobody came to my blog to read it because it was available elsewhere. Does WordPress provide RSS?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com does provide RSS.
RSS cannot be turned off on WordPress.com.
There are some plugins that claim to be able to do this on self-hosted WordPress sites (sites that use the free software from WordPress.org. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/). But to be honest, while content theft is a problem that we all need to be aware of, far more good comes from RSS feeds than bad. You gain readers and followers by having RSS enabled.

Good morning. :)@nidaafazl
What I do to compel visitors to read the full posts on my blog is set my RSS Feed to summary.Go to > Settings > Reading and select “summary” rather than “full text” for the RSS Feed entry and then click “save changes” .
For each article in a feed, show
_ Full text
_ SummaryAlso note if you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.

And good morning to you as well!
Timethief actually has a very good “middle ground” sort of suggestion. If whoever is swiping your RSS is just pulling it straight from the feed, they can still steal the summary. But it won’t be a complete post and may, in fact, end up driving more traffic to your blog.

Thank you both for your help, I think setting the RSS feed to summary is a very good idea, I hope it does bring more readers to my blog. I’m new to blogging and also to replying in a forum so please overlook any mistakes! And it’s morning this side of the world so G’night both of you :) Thanks again. -
