Can I un-map my domain so thta It goes back to functioning as it did before?

I opted for domain mapping- but suddenly the mail forwarding had stopped working- Simply Names where the domain http://www.reallyaccessiblememory.com is registered, said I had to change the name servers back to theirs, which I did resolving that problem but now the web -forwarding has totally ceased functioning- this might explain why my traffic seems to have fallen. So I’d like to un-map my domain to return to normal healthy operation -as I clearly did not understand the process of mapping-

You can always cancel a domain mapping via your Store -> Domains page by clicking on the “Cancel” button.

However, if you’d like to continue using your custom domain with WordPress.com, you may need to update your MX records for your email to work properly. To clarify, you’ll need to point your domain name servers to WordPress.com for the domain mapping upgrade to work properly.

Then, ask Simply Names for your MX records, explaining that you’ve mapped your domain to WordPress.com. You can insert the information they provide you into your custom DNS editor. This guide explains how to do that in detail:
