Can I upgrade or move my free site to a self hosted site?

  Pardon my ignorance but I was wondering if there was anything I could do with my free WordPress site to be able to add Google Analytics to it.

  Can a free WordPress blog be easily turned into a self hosted one or do I have to start from scratch? It looks like going self hosted is my only option as upgrading to a premium site still won’t help me to add Google Analytics right? Looking for some guidance please ASAP!

  You can actually use Google Analytics via a fiddly workaround if you want.
