Can I upgrade to a custom domain with a debit credit card?

    I tried to purchase a custom domain and domain mapping, and I received the error message: “The transaction was declined.” My bank says they approved the transaction.

    Below are the only accepted means of payment.

    WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

    If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country. Note: You can buy a prepaid credit card from an approved country.

    In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

    The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

    What do you see at > Dashboard > Store > Billing History please?

    Thanks timethief- I’m using a debit card that has a VISA symbol on it and I’m in the U.S., and my bank is a U.S. bank. From the info that you, sent, there doesn’t seem to be any reason why the transaction isn’t going through. I went to: Dashboard > Store > Billing History, and it says, “You have no receipts at the moment.”

    Hi there,

    I’m looking at your transaction history and I’m not seeing any attempts which means that it was blocked before it could even reach us. Can you try another card? or try PayPal ?

    Let me know how that works out.
