Can I upload a .php file to my wordpress blog root directory?

  I need to use email tracking that requires my to embed a .php file in my wordpress blog root directory.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m still building. Also looking at other website/blog builders that allow php files. Found one that works so probably won’t be using WordPress anyway. Thanks, auxclass and justjennifer for your suggestions.
