can I upload a theme using the free version?

  Hi, I am trying to learn how to use WordPress better, create a site with it, as opposed to updating content with it which I do now. My question is, with the free version, am I allowed to upload a theme? or do I have to go to paid version for that? thank you

  Hello, you need to upgrade to a Business or Ecommerce plan to upload a theme. Also, it is worth nothing that when you use a custom theme you lose access to the Follow Button widget (this one: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/)
