Can I upload email addresses from gmail as followers?
-
We used to send out notifications of our special events, etc. via email to our patrons. Now we have a website, we are switching it to blog format and people can sign up as followers to receive notifications. Is there a way to upload 80+ subscribers we have maintained in gmail contact into the “followers” email list?
Thanks much in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, you can’t, and doing so without the explicit permission of the owners of those email addresses is illegal in several countries in any case.
You can invite people via email to follow the site. You do that via the Users section of the dashboard. However, those people will have to confirm the invitation before they’ll start receiving updates. https://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-follow-your-blog
Also be aware that you’ll only be able to invite ten people at a time. This is built-in measure to prevent people using the invitation feature to send out spam. After the first ten have accepted, you’ll be able to invite the next ten, and so on.
A faster method might be to normally email those people a link to your site. Then they can visit it on their own and sign up to follow.
