    Hi,

I have a wordpress.com site (teeviews.com), for this site, I want to use an e-commerce supported theme.

can I use some theme like eshop (to be purchased from templatic.com) below

    http://templatic.com/demos/?theme=eshop

    If so How?

Else, what e-commerce themes can I use?

    Thanks,
    Kalyan

We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM. We are limited to the 150+ (and growing) themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

Themes at wordpress.COM have to be modified to work within the restrictions here and to support the unique features. Themes straight off the internet (which are for self-hosted blogs) will not work here.

The differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org sites.

WordPress has never had any problem with people selling their own creations (made with their own hands) at wordpress.COM, but selling products you have not made yourself and such really isn’t a go here. If the products you want to sell are things you have made yourself, then perhaps you can look into an Etsy shop and link to the product pages there from within your site here.

    Ok,

I created teeviews.com domain thinking I can have some ecommerce features and i can use some custom ecommerce themes (Yes, I didn’t do a proper research before registering wordpress.com domain)

Now since I want this domain for my ecommerce purposes..can i change unregister this domain or just change domain name to something else (I have bullishonlife.wordpress.com which I would like to convert to bullishonlife.com)

I will create teeviews.com seperately and will want to use this domain with ecommerce features.

    Please help me on this.

    Thanks,
    Kalyan

The domain cannot be transferred for 60 days, and deleting it is not good either since it could be 60 days before it would be available again. These things are outside the control of anyone (ICANN rules).

BUT, you don’t have to transfer it. You can just point the domain name at a web host of your choosing and then use the wordpress.ORG software there.

Also if it has been less than 30 days, you can get a refund on the domain mapping. You should be able to initiate that from the “store” section of your dashboard.

You would have to hire a webhost such as dreamhost, bluehost, etc., and they will give you the DNS records you would have to enter into the nameserver area in the domain management here. You then enter those nameservers into the nameserver 1, 2 and 3 fields shown in the support document.

After you did that, it would take about 24 hours for that change to make its way around to all the internet nameservers. You would then install wordpress on your account at the web host and then transfer any content you have here to that new site.

WordPress also offers a guided transfer service where they do all that for you and turn the site over to you all set up and running. You would have to install the e-commerce plugin yourself though.
