Can I use a purchased theme on my Go Daddy hoating package?
-
Question. I just purchased the Pretty Young Thing for my new WordPress.com account. I have a hoisting package at Go Daddy. Can I use this purchased theme there?

No, unfortunately themes purchased on WordPress.com cannot be transferred to a self-hosted site.
If you’d like to switch to self-hosting, we do have a 30-day refund policy for themes purchased at WordPress.com. We could cancel that upgrade for you and then you could buy the self-hosted version of Pretty Young Thing through StudioPress:

Dear Happiness Engineer, Evarlese –
Thank you for your reply. My hosting at GD expires tomorrow. I have not posted anything in the whole year I’ve had it. For SEO purposes would it be better to have a paid hosted site or a free WP site and upgrade to Mapping an Existing domain at WP. I do not have any emails addresses set up at the domain yet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Carolyn

SEO-wise, neither really matter. I suppose you have more freedom to modify meta tags and such with a self-hosted blog, but in today’s SEO environment, content is still king.

How do I request a refund for the Pretty Little Thing theme so I can re-purchase it on my self-hosted site? Purchased on January 16, 2012. http://www.carolyncarpenter.wordpress.com.
I am supporting the blackout;)
