Can I use API key for stats on many blogs?
-
I run a few blogs and was wondering if I can use my API key on a several self hosts blogs for the stats plug in.
A few months ago the stats on one blog (the only one for which I used the stats plug in) stopped working, it shows 0 visitors everyday when I have a few thousands of them. I tried reinstalling the plug in but it just work work, I was wondering if it would be API’s problem?

I’m wondering the same thing. I inserted the same API key on a second blog (registered to the same wordpress username on wordpress.com) and it seemed to work at first. Then it started to complain (on my Dashboard/Stats) that this key blonged to another user. But now it works again, just checked. It would be great to know how this is supposed to work. Is it a unique identifier for a certain web site, or is it more like a password to control who accesses it? Will the stats be off if different sites use the same key?

I am in the same boat. At one time I could have sworn it said somewhere that you could only use it for one blog, but for the life of me I can’t find it again. I have no problem signing up for another one, but it seems more efficient to use the same one for my multiple blogs.

Can I use the same API key on multiple blogs?
Just like with Akismet, you’re welcome to use the same API key on multiple blogs. In fact our interface is optimized for quickly switching between stats for multiple blogs.
I knew I saw the answer to this somewhere I found this here in case either of you were still wondering:

I feel like a total dope now, but I swear I searched before posting.
