can I use domain mapping and keep my own dns?
-
we have subdomain mapping in place and now want to go live with the wordpress hosted site by redirecting our www. Documentation implies we need to point our NS to WP hosting, then control our dns from WP hosting. Can we not keep our own dns and just direct the www to WP hosting with an additional mapping charge?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
I just want to make sure I understand correctly. Currently, you have blog.individualizedfunding.ca mapped to your WordPress.com blog. You would now like to map the root domain individualizedfunding.ca to your blog as well. Is that correct?
If so, the main method we recommend is to change the name servers to point to WordPress.com. However, as you mentioned, this requires you to move the DNS records as well. If instead, you would like to map your domain using A records, you could do that and still keep your name servers as they are currently. If you want to go that route, you can use the following A records:
76.74.254.120 66.155.11.238 66.155.9.238 192.0.80.250 76.74.254.123 192.0.81.250The main downside is that our IP addresses can change without warning, which would cause some issues with your site. I recommend at least adding two IP addresses if you’re going this route.
Please let me know if I misunderstood your request at all!
