Can I use my own DNS server? Will this violate TOS?
-
Hello, I would like to map my current site at “weburban.com” to my current blog on wordpress at “weburbandotcom.wordpress.com” — however, I need to use “A name” records to map a subdomain to a totally different server (my e-commerce ISP) and your DNS cannot do this. I am wondering if I can use my own DNS service through Network Solutions to map to the IP address for my WordPress Blog without violating the TOS. I think the IP of my blog is: 72.233.2.58
My main question is will this violate TOS? Is this possible? Thanks!

Hi there,
It’s not possible to point your domain to a WordPress.com using an A record.
You’ll need to change your name servers to:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comAnd follow this guide:
http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/We do offer a custom DNS editor, and you should be able to input an A or CNAME record in order to map a subdomain to a different host.
