Can I use straight display advertising?

    I am the editor of a small, weekly newspaper. I have an older website and would really like to change. I believe that a hosted WordPress site might be just the thing for me, but I want to do a test first. With that in mind I am putting together a sports microsite to cover our local football teams this season. I would like to put a couple of ads on the site using the photo widget. I was also thinking of having “sponsorships” of the site from the local bank, and my idea was to set up a Page for the bank with information, a photo, links, phone numbers, etc., but I certainly don’t want to get crosswise with the TOS. Thank you.

    If you require advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
