Can I use the generic gravatar icon in my application when I'm not online?

  When I’m not online and I can’t access the Gravatar service for my app my user’s icons break. Can I use the generic Gravatar icon and use it when there is no connection to the service?

  This is a general purpose question. It doesn’t have to do with the blog. How do I delete that?
