Can I use the name of my deleted site?
-
Hi! A few months ago I set up a page with a name kreconowlosybiolchem.wordpress.com, because I was thinking of moving my blog from blogger to wordpress, but then i changed my mind and deleted the site. Now, when I try to set up a site again (with the same name) it always adds some numbers to the name, for example kreconowlosybiolchem3284938.wordpress.com. Is there a way to get rid of them and use the name of a deleted site?

Hey kreconowlosybiolchem,
Deleting a website is a permanent action, you can’t use the same web address again.
If you read this post, the first lines give the clear instruction. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
You may think of another name.

You can’t reuse a name you have deleted but you could edit a new site address and remove most of the numbers and use that address with just one or two numbers at the end. The other option would be to upgrade to a paid plan and then you could use the address of your choice with just .com or .blog etc at the end (if that address isn’t already taken of course).
To upgrade an existing free plan: https://wordpress.com/plans
