Can I use WooCommerce if my site is hosted at WordPress.com?

Hi! I have a WordPress, com site (berkulele.com) and I want to build a webstore on my page. However I am hosted by WordPress so I don’t think I am able to use WooCommerce plugin. What are my options? Do I need to get my own hosting and transfer over to WordPress.ORG to be allowed to use plugins, or is there a way for me to use WooCommerce on my site without moving my hosting?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Howdy!

You’re correct – plugins are only allowed on self-hosted WordPress.org sites. You have two main options:

    1. If you would like, you can use the eCommerce options through WordPress.com explained here:

      Sell Online on WordPress.com

We support Ecwid, Shopify, or Shoplocket (not WooCommerce unfortunately). Just a note, in order to use the eCommerce option at WordPress.com, you also need to purchase the Business bundle.

    2. Alternatively, you could move to a self-hosted site following the instructions here:

      http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

As you mentioned, with that option, you would have unlimited flexibility in the plugins you use.

Let me know how you would like to move forward!
