can jetpack leave a footprint across multiple self-hosted blogs?

Hi, this is a general question about using Jetpack on self-hosted sites.

I have a handful of self-hosted wordpress installations and I’ve begun installing jetpack on all of them, because it has so much useful functionality and it is just so darn convenient.

However, I am using my one single wordpress.com account with all these sites to connect the sites and the jetpack plugin to wordpress.com.

My question is, is this leaving a footprint? Is there any code or something else like that (eg account # or user id) being placed on the site such that a Google would be able to notice that my sites are related to each other?

    Hi tsgeric,

Google and other internet sites and search engines will not be able to tell that site A is connected to a given WordPress.com account, nor will they be able to tell that sites A and B belong to the same account.

You are always welcome to create a separate WordPress.com account for different sites for your own administrative purposes, but from the standpoint of the public, it’s not necessary to do so.
