Can log on as admin: Request has been terminated
-
The cause of the warning message on login is now fixed, so you should be able to log in via the respective language-specific links now.
@burgholzhausen
Can you please log in in an incognito window in Chrome, and then try to log out from that session? Also try clearing cache and cookies again, and then try in a regular browser session to see if the fix for the login issue perhaps fixed this as well.
As no one else has reported problems logging out, and we’re not able to replicate it on our side either, I don’t think it’s related, though.
-
Yes, logging on just works again now – regardless if you use English and German console now. Obviously just fixed a few minutes ago.
Still open: logging off still doesn’t work as it should (but bug is known and being addressed as I understand.)
-
Logging on is fully ok (with any browser). Thanks a lot!!! :-)
Logging off is still an issue. I wonder if others have just not noted yet that there is an issue since yesterday late afternoon German time. Maybe others have only closed the browser window instead of trying to log off properly (abmelden)?
-
@burgholzhausen
Can you please check for me: Go to wordpress.com/me and click the abmelden button. Then refresh the page. What happens?
Can you also check what happens if you set your account language settings to English?
-
Ok, here we go. When I refresh the page from wordpress.com/me I get back to the english logon page. Before you ask, I have NOT checked the box “Keep me signed in”.
I tried to change the logon language to EN, but it is not possible at all (neither EN nor EN UK). Actually I can not make any changes to the profile. (That started yesterday late evening.) When trying to change the language I get the message “An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.” I have quit the page without saving.
I also had tried to go back with the back arrow, but then got the “usual” message that the changes were not saved. Waited a bit, but it did not look like anything was still processing at all. So I finally left the page without saving the logon language.

When trying to change the language I get the message “An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.”
That error only appears if we’re unable to detect the cookie in your browser that tracks your login. Have you cleared all cookies from your browser as I’d asked earlier in this thread? And do you have third party cookies enabled in your browser?
Are you using any privacy plugins in your browser that prevent cookies from working?
-
Yes, I did clear all Cookies.
Other privacy plugins… no idea (Company pc… not sure what they sometimes automatically apply, but there should not have anything done on Sundays. Before it was working fine. This question is going to deep into details for me … :-( -
Okay, I think I know what’s going on. Please go to this link for me:
https://wordpress.com/me/account/
Don’t press the abmelden button, but set the language to English. Save.
Now try logging out. Does it work?
If earlier you tried changing the language after clicking the abmelden button you might already have been logged out, but the screen didn’t show it – that appears to be the issue here. If the language is set to something other than English, clicking the button does log you out, but the screen doesn’t change so it still looks like you’re logged in. But if you try to change anything at that point you will get an error because you are actually logged out.
I’ve reported this issue to our developers so it can be fixed.
-
Thanks. That helps confirm the issue. I’ve reported it to our developers so they can fix it.
For now, you are being logged out, but it just doesn’t look that way. So you can set your language back to German. When you log out, just refresh the page to make sure you’re really logged out.
I’ll update here once we get this fixed.
-
Okay, the logging out issue should also be fixed now. Thanks for reporting both bugs in this thread :)
