Can my blog automatically email posts?

I’ve searched for this answer but there are so many email notifications questions it’s impossible to find an answer.
I am moving from Blogger, which had an option for the blog owner to automatically send blog posts to selected email addresses. This did not require that the addressees subscribe to the blog in any way–I was able to add up to ten email addresses who would automatically receive an email containing the post with all of the formatting.
Is there any way to do this on WP?

Are there any efforts to include such a feature to wordpress?
in the blog http://www.twoday.net you can easily subscribe to a blog you`re interested in an get an email when new post are published; This makes the blog a good team-communication-tool.Im looking foreward to such a possibility!

@dubiousmerit – take a look at this thread – https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/email-post-to-blog?replies=11 There is a way to do it using a third party. I haven’t tried it so I can’t say how well it works.
