Can my blog page from wordpress.org website appear in wordpress.com?
-
I started a blog on wordpress.com. Then I created a website hosted by wordpress.org and transferred my wordpress, com blog to wordpress.org. My question is can I have best of both worlds and have my blog page (www.samaripr.com/blog) or individual blog posts appear in wordpress.com so bloggers can follow?
Thank you,
Joy

Hi there, Joy!
If you want, you can certainly manage your blog here at WordPress.com and host the full website on another server.
In order to do this, you’d need to create a subdomain for your domain (samaripr.com) — that would look like this: blog.samaripr.com. It cannot be samaripr.com/blog. The first example is a subdomain. The second is a folder. WordPress.com sites cannot be mapped to folders.
If you’d like to map a WordPress.com site to a non-WordPress.com site, you can use these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/Then, you’d manage your blog posts here at WordPress.com, and your website at your WordPress.org server. This could get a little confusing, but it is doable.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Thank you for your prompt response. Is there a way to maintain the look of the wordpress.org site or do I have to select a template from wordpress.com?
Thank you,
Joy

Hi Joy!
If you want to host the blog here at WordPress.com, you will have to use one of our themes.
Sometimes, the same theme is available at WordPress.com and WordPress.org…otherwise, you can probably find something quite similar, or complementary to the WordPress.org site.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!
