can my host un”nofollow” me? I’m on .com….
-
Am I stuck with ref= nofollow since I post on WordPress.com? I download the plugin before realizing I was “x’d” out… Is there anyway individual posts can opt out from the “nofollow” tag if they are using your .com service as host?

Nofollow is only set here at wordpress.COM if you choose either the second or third selection under settings > privacy.
I do believe that wordpress.COM sets “nofollow” on links put into the body of comments if I remember right, but that is actually a good thing from a search engine optimization standpoint as it keeps the search engine on your blog rather than sending it off to the link in the comment.

This is the robots.txt file for the blog linked to your username. There is no “nofollow” in it.
