Can my 'reply box' include a text editor like other blog sites?
-
I would like to allow my readers to post not just text in the reply, but also links, bold and italicized font, media, etc. Does wordpress allow some type of editor to be included on the reply for any post or any page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, the comment box doesn’t include an editor like the post editor, but visitors can still use HTML code to create those things in their replies. Here is an example of HTML code that can be included in comments:
a (links)
i or em (italics)
b or strong (bold)You can also embed Twitter posts and YouTube videos in comments, as mentioned here: Comment Embeds
Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
Edit: Oops! It looks like my attempt to include the HTML tags above messed up my reply. If you’re interested, you can learn more about how those HTML tags work at W3 Schools.

so would I then need to have a set of directions above every page of my blog or within every blog post that tells users how to add links, change fonts, etc.? Seems like there could be an easier way, like a text editor.
Are there other options for finding text editors that can work alongside with WordPress? If so, what are those options?

Hi there – We don’t currently have any kind of shortcut HTML legend that appears in the comment form itself, and it’s not possible to add one to the reply form itself. You could put instructions in a Text widget in your sidebar, or you could have a “Commenting FAQs” page that lists this out.
Finally, you can modify the comment prompt (the very bottom field here), so you could mention that simple HTML can be used in the prompt if you like:
