Can my self-hosted wordpress blog still accept wordpress subscribers?

Hi, I have a self-hosted blog (hosted using hostgator) but using the wordpress engine.
I noticed that wordpress blogs have this wonderful “Follow Blog via Email” wordpress-powered widget that formats the post updates sent to subscribers’ email nicely. It includes a ‘comment’ function, which allows users to comment directly on the post notification email that contains either the full post/excerpt, which I haven’t seen in any other email notification tools before. I can’t find any plugin like it.
