Can No Longer Change Color of Links

    For over a year I have colored my links in BLUE to highlight for readers. My new posts no longer accepts color changes to my links. WordPress.com is blaming this problem on CSS Customization.

    I’m about ready to sign off, but this isn’t an issue with the CSS as you know, it is another issue with the new version of the editor. Two things to try.

    1. Assign the color to the text you are going to use as the link, then create the link.

    2. Create the link and then assign the color.

    Try both of those. I think the first will be the one that works, but I can’t remember for sure.

    The other alternative is to do it manually in the HTML (not the best solution but will work until the editor is fixed). The basic link structure, if you click on the HTML tab will look like this.

    <a href="url">Link text</a>

    You want to change it like this.

    <a href="url"><span style="color:blue;">Link text</span></a>

    If you are using a hex color code for the blue, then insert that where the “blue” is as below.

    <a href="url"><span style="color:#1b32eb;">Link text</span></a>

    and then substitute your hex color for the one I have in there.

    Link color has been a problem for some over the last several days

    but the problem seems to have been addressed; in my test blog I can once again
    1.) Assign color to the link text
    2.) Create the link with the chain icon

    Only certain themes allow you to change the background colors of your blog. If you want to use a background color on certain parts of your posts only, you can do it like this:
