Can Not access email that was used at sign up
-
The title sums it up: I used an email to sign up and start a blog. The email was hacked, I deleted the email address (not really thinking). I tried to sign into my wordpress blog, I remember the email address I used, but I can not remember the password. It keeps sending “reset password” to deleted email address.
I need support!!!!

Thank You timethief. The email address is/was (email visible only to moderators and staff) and the login was kelisenterprise.

Email addresses are redacted in posts here in the forums. But you should not post an email address, anyway (and especially never the password to anything). The thread is already flagged for staff attention. You can provide them with more personal information and credentials as needed. Give it some time … I hear they are rather backlogged right now.

They probably do need it. They will tell you what means to use to provide it to them if they do.

Can you get access to the old email address?
We can only restore access to your account if you contact us from the email address on the account or provider your API Key as proof of ownership.
If you can get access to the old email address, you might as well just reset the password.

No I do not have access to the email at all. It is completely deleted. I don;t know what an API Key is. I don’t know I have 3 blogs under the account, and when I tried to delete one of the blogs,it sent the email to my new email address, which was weird. But when I ask to reset password, it keeps sending it to an old email account that has been closed for some time now.
If you can just delete the entire account and the three blog sites under it, I would love that. I have no Idea what my password as I have tried every possible combination I can think of.
-
I can’t delete anything without proof of ownership. Is there any way that you could get them to restore the email address?

Hm, do you have your old welcome email with the API key? Otherwise, did you purchase an upgrade from us? If so, do you have the transaction ID from the receipt?
-
No I can’t, I mean^ The entire gmail account was deleted. There has got to be another way wordpress can identify an account besides just an email.
-
-
I don’t have that. Last time I was in the account I was trying to delete it and it sent me an email to my new email address (weird) to confirm deletion, The email stated:
Dear User,
You recently clicked the ‘Delete Blog’ link on your blog and filled in a
form on that page.
If you really want to delete your blog, click the link below. You will not
be asked to confirm again so only click this link if you are 100% certain:But when I tried to click on it an rest password it is saying it is linked to the deleted email.
-
one is kelisenterprise.wordpress.com (which is private) and the other is retarded12.wordpress.com (lol, was trying something out)
-
If it sent anything to the new email (for the blog delete) and you have access to that one, maybe that one is in the database somewhere on the proper account?
Gmail policy of restoring is similar to WP. It’s common to prevent people from grabbing someone else’s identity. For example, if I got someone else’s email, I could see later coming mail about their active accounts elsewhere and do password resets on them. Yahoo had problems like this many years ago when they let anyone get deactivated emails.
-
Yeah, there’s nothing else that we can use for those blogs to prove ownership besides an email from the email address that owns them or confirmation of the API key on the account.
-
OK, so why did it send the deletion confirmation to the email I have access to, but wont send the password reset there? I am just confused.
