can not change telephone for authenticator
-
I have lost my telephone though I manage to log in with backup codes.
Now I want to disable the two step authentication since my old telephone number is listed.
however I am asked to enter my current activation code. when I use the backup code the code is ALWAYS denied.
since I cannot use a backup code here and I can not use the authenticator app since it directs to my old number this complete disablement is never going to work and there complete utter nonsense.
what other way can I disable this 2 step authentication or can someone from support disable it for me?
please help!

You are referring to http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/#if-you-lose-your-device
Please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

actually this process is really not suitable, since they ask you an authentication code, and in case if you have troubles with using the authenticator you can not use it.
is there another way to disable that damn Two Step Authentication? or just a support contact to ask to change your current telephone?

I actually managed to resolve it, but in order to do so I had to recreate new backup codes. the ones I had and were not used were not accepted. So this is RESOLVED =)
