can not find the wordpress version i am using
-
In my dashboard it does not tell me what version of wordpress my site is using.
I am hosted at wordpress. I am used to hosting my wordpress installation usually by myself.
Because its hosted at wordpress and with an upgrade do i presume that its using the latest version?
Will it always be sutomatically upgraded or do i have to do that manually?
Thanks
LisaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Why are you asking? Here at WordPress.com Staff do all upgrades for us. We run on the most recent stable version and it’s not relevant to any support documentation that applies to free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

BTW Welcome to WordPress.com. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

I am asking because my blog has upgrades and i presumed it would say what version it is. When you google this question it tells you where the version is in the dashboard, but mine does not have anything. What if i buy a custom theme and its not compatible with a new version. I was asking because i thought that was what a forum is for?

Please read the answer timethief provided above. To be clear: WorPress.com does not have specific versions because it is constantly being updated and experimented on.
Maybe it is a bit confusing if you don’t realize that there are different flavors of WordPress so here is some information about that:
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/You have domain mapping, but your site is still hosted for free here on WordPress.COM.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgradingAs for purchasing premium themes, you can find the ones we can use on WordPress.com here:
http://wordpress.com/themes/
or dashboard—>appearance—>themes
Themes are specially adapted for the WordPress.com platform.Themes you find online are designed for WordPress.org and we cannot use them here. Conversely, some of the wp.com themes are available for wp.org, but if you choose to buy a wp.com premium theme from wp.com, then you must understand that it will not work on a self-hosted wp.org site.
