Can not get to email forwarding

  • Unknown's avatar

I purchased the domain about 30 mins ago. The simplified domain is up and running, but when I go to “My Domains” and click on the Edit button to set up email forwarding, nothing happens. The button changes color and then nothing.

    Am I rushing it?
    Thanks,
    Glenda

Hi, are you still having issues with setting up your email forwarding? http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/

I finally was able to access it. (I’ve found that I have to reload the page after clicking the Edit button). But, now I have a different but similar problem.

I set up the email forwarding (confirmation and tested it) and it worked great. Then, after some testing realized that I should have directed it to a different email address so that I would be able to regulate the incoming emails. I have tried to remove the first email address and then set up the second one (confirmation and test) but, it still forwarded to the first address. So, I have now removed the second address, logged out, and went and checked to make sure there is no forwarding set up. But, when I test it, it still sends contact form information to the first email address.

What do I need to do?
    Thank you!
    Glenda

But, when I test it, it still sends contact form information to the first email address

This may not have anything to do with forwarding. The contact form normally sends a notification to the account email address of the page or post author. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/#notification-preferences

    Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately that’s not the problem. The second email in my scenario above is my account email. So, the problem is not resolved. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi Glenda,

I checked your domain and confirmed that you do not have email forwarding set up right now. Are you still having trouble with this?

If so, can you describe the exact steps you’re taking to test the email forwarding? (You can include the email addresses you’re testing in your reply, and our forums software will hide them so only staff can see them.) That will help me look into this for you.
