  I can not go to my webpage I built says
  This Connection is Not Private

  Is it working now? I was able to connect. My guess is that it took a little while to for the SSL certificate to be picked up on the server.

  It did, thank you, does it need a custom domain or was it the SSL?

  Please confirm for me which site you were seeing the security notice on. Every site and domain at WordPress.com includes an SSL automatically. It sounds like the domain you were viewing might not be registered through us. I’d like to confirm. Thanks.
