can not post a youtube video

i copy the video’s embed code and paste it into my blog post,from “subject” to “subject” i mean the whole link then i save the post,,When i save my post, the embed code is not automatically translated into a shorter, WordPress specific code,nothing on my blog post ,,only a white page,,then i click on publish,,the thread is not published,i go to the link how to post a youtube video and follow all steps but i don’t succeed ,any help please ,,thank you

Do you have a link to your blog? It might help if we can see an example of where the video should appear in a post. But generally it should work just as the FAQ says… copy the Youtube link, then find the Videos tab below your editor and paste in the link and click send. Or you can just copy the link in around the brackets like this and it should work just fine. Is that what you’re doing? [youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=_ZNa3kbRPOw].

What do you mean by “Isolate”? You need to upload it to one of the approved video platforms like Youtube, then you follow the instructions in the FAQ link that tsp gave.

The “send to editor” command will send the right embed code to the editor. In order to see the video you have to save the post and preview it.
If you already did so and nothing happened you should check the URL you are using or post it here so that we can have a look. -
The code apears when you do that like this: Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch/43556 or something like that.

The video tab will show you the “proper code” required to post you video, but really it is:

I also got problem when I want to upload youtube to my blog. I went to FAQ, and already did whatever instruction there but still I can’t saw my youtube video. And I can’t find the “video” tab in my editor to do for second instruction. So pls help me. Thank you

I also tried both methods– copying Youtube’s embed and using the Video tab to upload to Editor– and I got blank white space. And after I uploaded my page and went back to edit, the code was gone.

I thought we couldn’t load youtube videos. We had to use a link only.
Can someone tell us in plain language and words of one syllable what we can do and how to do it?

Here’s what I do:
1. Get the embed code for the video you wish to show (copy it to the clipboard).
2. In the visual editor, paste it into your post or page where you want it to appear.
3. When you save and/or publish the post, the embed code will be converted to the proper code for here at wordpress.com.If you are using the code editor:
1. Get the URL of the video you wish to post.
2. In code view, put this code: [youtube=URL of the youtube video] and replace the “URL of the youtube video” with the actual URL. -
I have been following this discussion because I am having the same problem with video not coming up. Would appreciate any suggestions or other troubleshooting suggestions! I have read the FAQ’s and the various suggestions here. But:
1) When I do a standard YouTube embed or the “[youtube” workaround suggested here I still get plain old code, no video
2) If I’m on drugs tell me but i don’t see a “video” tab on the uploads bar!
3) There’s a new video site called Hulu that offers embedding code. It’s a high-end Big Content site, from Fox and Warner. Do I understand we’re not allowed to use stuff from non-approved entities like that? I poked around on the FAQ and that seems to be the case, but it doesn’t explain why. That embedding code isn’t working for me either.
Is there some plain and obvious thing I’m missing? It could be — I’m new at this. The site is at hitsville.org… I don’t have the post with the video up because it’s not working and looks bad.

Yes, I did copy the embedded code from you tube and paste onto my post. I saved it and did a preview and all I got was the same whole chunk of embedded code on the blog. Seems to have video upload problem after the new wordpress look! Anyone has the same problem?
