Can not upload a photo to WordPress

When I try to upload a photo to WordPress, I get a message that says ‘ Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2022/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?’
I need help to upload photo to WordPress so I can insert them into the site. I have done it before, WP does not allow it now.

Thanks for that! We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to access your site’s backend to take a closer look. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.
