Can old blogs be released for new users

    Hi,
    I am looking to change my blog from Blogger to Word Press for its many more editable options etc. Currently my blog is named Living With The Seat Up, and I would like to use http://www.livingwiththeseatup.wordpress.com. However, this name is already being used by someone else, but they have actually deleted the blog and aren’t using the space. I am very interested in making the switch but don’t want to switch my blog name at all. The full domain is available but at this point I’m not able to pay for that service.

    I know it’s a long shot but is there any way of contacting that user and requesting they release that blog name so I can use it?

    If the site has been deleted there is not a way to contact the user. We also don’t reuse deleted blog names on WordPress.com. You could choose an available name but livingwiththeseatup.wordpress.com won’t be able to be reused.
