Can one turn off CSS?

    Yes, the following is where the general overall color is set for the text in your theme. There are other more specific rules in the CSS to control certain types of text (links, etc.), so if this doesn’t change everything you want it to, let me know what others you want to change.

    body, input, textarea {
        color: #000000;
    }

    That’s great. I see that CSS works even with just a few lines. I imagine that’s because there is the underlying theme framework that comes with the blog. If you built a blog from scratch, you would need a lot more, like what I cleaned out from my CSS earlier today.

    That’s all I will trouble you with today. I still need to clean up a few widgets and old posts and you (and everyone on this thread) have been very helpful. My sincere thanks again.

    Yes, with WordPress.com, they typical way is to create rules to style/change things they way you want them and then your custom CSS is loaded after the original CSS, and whatever is loaded last takes precedence, so whatever you add is what will generally rule. Sometimes you end up having to do some CSS trickery with certain things, but not most of the time.

    You are very welcome, and you know where we are. :)
