Can only add an image at the top of a blog post – help please!

    My WordPress got updated today – and now when I add an image to a blog post, it only appears at the top, before the text! Even if I’ve clicked in the place where I want the image to appear, it still appears at the top.

    I’m only a beginner (finding the ‘new improved’ version pretty confusing to be honest) so if someone could explain what I need to do in order to have an image appear at any point in the text and not right at the top of it, I would appreciate this. My editor is in ‘classic’ mode.

    On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.

    If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.

    You can also install the Classic Editor plugin to disable the new default editor:
