Can only write posts in code

Hello. I haven’t had my wordpress account for long, but suddenly one day I wasn’t able to choose “visual” when I write a new post. Before I could choose between “code” and “visual”, but now only “code” is showing, and I can’t change it back! Anyone who knows what’s wrong and how I can fix it?

Dashboard -> Users -> Your profile -> Check that box near the top for using the rich text editor and click on the Save Changes button.

Sorry, did a search and found that I have a similar problem to that.
But to add on, the post and the visual code appears after I checked the rich text editor button.
However, the icons like B, I, —-> more buttons gone missing! What to do about that?

Really depends on what browser you’re using. Try clearing your browser cache and doing a forced reload of the page that you’re looking at. If that doesn’t work, browser, browser version, and any security programs that you’re running please.

Thanks! I finally knew what a force reload is and the problem is resolved!
Pardon my IT knowledge cos I didn’t know the icons are actually called editors. Else could have solve the problem faster!

Yes, but it sometimes unticks itself and you have to reset it. Check again. Also, did you clear your browser cache and do a forced reload of the page like suggested?

If anyone else posts here, check to make surre the box is checked. if it is, clear out your browser’s cache and do a forced reload of the page that you’re looking at:
if that doesn’t work, please report your browser, browser version, OS and and security programs you may be running. Please give specifics. That’s why you’re being asked for them. if you’re thinking that you don’t need to give specifics, then give them anyway.

I’ve lost my edit bar and I’ve tried the ways described in the faq to get it back. It has something to do with the plug-ins I have. things like share-this or sociable cause it to disappear. I’m not sure why because so many others use them without a problem.

The error I get in IE7 is the following:
“Error: ‘realTinyMCE’ is undefined
URL: http://www.livingsweb.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=55I’m not sure if I just can’t run those plug-ins or if I can actually do something about it.

WordPress.com blogs do not have plug-ins but wordpress.org blogs do.
Wordpress.com runs on different software than wordpress.org does.
Support here is only for wordpress hosted blogs.
If you are self hosting or hosted by any other host then http://wordpress.org/support is where you should ask your questions. -
