Can original comments deleted by a moderator ever be retrieved by the commenter?

  If I post an original comment on a wordpress blog site, and the moderator deletes it, is there a way to retrieve the original comment for use elsewhere?

  Before you publish a comment, copy and paste it into a text editor… other than that, maybe Google cache, but that’s unlikely. So, no.

  …but you can use the same comment as many times, and in as many places, as you like.
