Can our blogs get hacked into from an outside source?
-
The reason I ask is because recently it looks like that is so on my blog. For it has just been bombed in my opinion. I know it is a custom that certain people will take images off you in which you have not asked permission for but…one of my pics on the side of my blog ”St.Padre Pio” has been replaced by an advert for ”sky box and t.v”
Thanks for all your help.

We monitor security all day everyday, so the possibility of a hack besides someone guessing your password is rather very low.
As with anything, your password is your weakest link.
The image you’re referring to, was it in your own media library, or were you referencing it from a remote URL?
If you were referencing it from a remote URL, it’s possible that the source deleted it, replaced it, or enabled hotlink protection, redirecting unauthorized domains to the ad.

Great thanks for your help. Have not had any problems with logging in and out so far. And can understand where you are coming from. I’m not that internet wise and was a bit shocked. thanks again for clearing it up.

Hi…
Had this threat on my blog today:
“Hypocrites, I’m going to drop a couple of my mates onto this site, extremely good hackers. Once the gain access they will find your real names (Im talking about the site admins, then post them, then rip this site to shreds). I’ve already had a go at hacking this site for fun, port scans, sql injections, xss scripting etc, page source info. Get ready for a shit storm.”
Is this possible…?

No.
It’s a boast. It’s very, very common. People try and scare people but if you look at what he’s actually saying it looks to me like he knows nothing about hacking: he’s just dropping a bunch of buzzwords to scare you. Sometimes they even ask for money so they won’t “hack” you.
I’ve been here almost five years and have only once seen ANYTHING approaching a real hack. If you’re nervous, change your password. It’s a good idea to change it regularly anyway.
