can picture copying be disabled?
-
My blog is not private, but I am wondering if there is any way to disable a user/viewer of my blog from taking my pictures. Currently, if you click on a picture from within the blog, it can then be taken and saved onto a personal device. Is there any way to prevent this from being done?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you use the Duotone theme right click is disabled. It’s not available on any other themes here and will not become available as it creates a false sense of security. Anyone can find instructions on the internet and get around it in less than 20 seconds flat. What’s best is watermarking your images or not placing any images and/or text you don’t want stolen on the internet at all. If you are for free watermarking programs this may help http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/19/watermark-your-blog-images/

The short answer is No. The long answer is, there are all kinds of technical “solutions” and none of them work. Your best bet is to watermark your images.

Thanks, both of you. I looked at the watermark sites and wordpress content theft page. Very helpful. It’s probably also a good idea to reconsider making the blog private again. But I do have the watermark program now and copyright notice on the blog. Thanks so much.
