can readers edit my published post?
-
I am a WordPress (and blog) newbie. I have published my first post on 4serenityblog.wordpress.com and notice that when I visit my blog (not preview, but visit it) there appears to be an option for any reader to go in and edit it. It appears along with the date/time stamp, tags, and “leave a comment” — below that it says “edit”. How can I remove that “edit” line?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! Have you tried logging out and then visiting your blog to see if you can edit it? It sounds like you are still logged in and WordPress gives you the ability to edit even while you are on the main blog page. I visited your page just to make sure and I didn’t see an edit option.

Thanks for the help! That took care of it. Maybe I should uncheck “keep me signed in” — and check my library for “wordpress for dummies”!

Hehe, no worries! We’ve all been there before. There is a lot to learn even for people who have used it for years. Happy New Year!
