Can readers gain instant access to my blog?
-
My blog used to be instantly accessible via Twitter. Users say they’re having to log in before reading. Can I go back to instant access please?
Thanks
DaveThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you provide me with one of the links on Twitter that is requiring users to log in before reading? Thanks.

Thanks Paul,
This was the link a follower said required them to log in:
https://wordpress.com/customize/themanontheground.wordpress.com …best

Hi Dave,
I see. Do you know how that URL was posted to Twitter? Was it done by some automatic means, or manually?I ask because that URL leads to the Customizer view for your website, where you can interactively customize different aspects of your site while getting a preview.
When sharing URL’s manually from your site, you’ll want to be sure you’re not sharing some admin-only URL such as the customizer, anything with “wp-admin” in it, etc.
Does this seem to help?

yes thanks very helpful. it’s done manually by me.
If I want to send it out then do I simply remove the ‘wp-admin’ part from the title or is there something stupidly simple I’m missing? I’ve posted a number of blogs this way up to now and not experienced this problem before.
Thanks

I am not a Twit – but when I send a link in email or whatever – I go to the Post / Page and copy the URL with the Post / Page displayed – that way I don’t get any junk by mistake – sometimes I will also right click and “Copy Link” –
You sent an Admin link which does require someone to be logged in – that can also happen if you are previewing a Post and copy the Preview URL
