Can readers who post comments be updated by email on new comments?

  Can readers who post comments be updated by email on new comments?

  i saw this feature on another blog and thought it would be useful so that users can be update by email on new comments and thus be prompted and facilitated to carry on the discussion.

  I don’t believe that can be done on WordPress.com blogs. It’s not uncommon on WordPress.org blogs, but it’s a plugin and we don’t have that option here.

  I know these two suggestions are not exactly what you want. But you can offer email updates to readers through feedburner
  http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/11/how-can-i-offer-email-updates/ And readers can subscribe to your blog’s rss feed for comments.

  If you’d like to see it on WP.com, you might want to send an email to staff suggesting it; they read the forums, but it’s always a good idea to let them know directly as well. If they get enough requests, they might add it as a feature.
