Can Shoreditch support separate featured images for the homepage vs. the post?
-
We’re using Shoreditch as our template. When I select a featured image, it populates the thumbnail in the post grid on the home page as well as a banner across the top of the individual post. It’s hard to find images that work well for both. Is there a way to:
1. Use different featured images for the post grid vs. the individual post?
2. Or – eliminate the banner image on top of the individual post while displaying the featured image in the post grid? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi jmaroneytest,
1. Use different featured images for the post grid vs. the individual post?
By default, it is only possible to choose one featured image per post and this is used for thumbnails as well as the single post. It may be possible to specify a different featured image for each single post using custom CSS. This means CSS would need to be manually added for each post you publish.
2. Or – eliminate the banner image on top of the individual post while displaying the featured image in the post grid?
It’s possible to hide the featured images on single posts from My Sites > Customise > Content Options. Once there, scroll down to
Featured Images, uncheckDisplay on single postsand publish the change. With that in mind, would you like to continue using featured images on single posts and use custom CSS to change the image? Or would you prefer to to hide featured images on single posts?

Thanks, Gemma.
We wish to avoid the use of custom code. The major reason we shifted from self-hosted to WP.com was to lighten the IT/administrative load associated with this blog. Thanks for your solution!
