I am interested in starting a blog, just need help setrting it up.

You can add a blog to your WordPress.com account by going to http://wordpress.com/signup/ whilst logged in. Please let us know if you’re having problems :)

The best thing I did when setting up my blog was to use it as a dummy blog for a couple of weeks. Try posting a few lines, send yourself a comment, add a video. In short, experiment with it. You will learn quickly and lots.
When you are ready to go, delete the experimental posts and you’re set. It is much less complicated than it might seem right now.

Also and we are here to help with any specific issues you have.(1) Set your timezone and complete all your information here > Settings > General then click “Save Changes”
(2) Choose a theme that suits you and your blog contents.
You can use the search utility and Feature Filters in your Dashboard > Appearance > Browse Themes > Feature Filters to locate themes of interest to you. (A-Z, Popular, Features)Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview”. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.
(3) Create a static Page with your basic “About me” and “About this blog” information on it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
(4) Create posts > To create a new post, go to Posts > Add New from the dashboard or use the New Post link in the gray admin bar shown at the top of WordPress.com pages while you are logged in http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
(5) Aim to become adept at using the support documentation searchbox and the firm search box so you can become independent ASAP.
(6) Don’t hesitate to post specific questions to the support forum when you cannot find answers to them in the support documentation.

I see you have a page tab labeled Forum. We cannot have embedded forums on wordpress.com blogs. The best we can do in that regard is to get a free forum from a site on the internet. Or get a free social networking site from ning.com and then link to it from our wordpress.com blogs.
