Can someone just squat on my trademark?

I have mentioned these concerns in my form submission – but really if the team just mechanically considers my request, they may not understand the full gravity of my situation. They have to understand and appreciate that any marketing efforts and search engine optimization efforts I put in will benefit this person, who, for some random reason, has multiple profiles with the same information. It is very serious trademark infringement as he has the same name and is in the same business – it will definitely confuse our potential customers.

Well, that will be something you can discuss with our internal team once they respond to your submission. We do seriously review each submission and have a thorough process in place to determine whether each complaint we receive is valid. https://wordpress.com/support/trademark-infringement/
At this point, waiting on the team with their response is the next step.

staff-doublebassd As I was worried, I have received a very lame response from WordPress that there is “insufficient” cause to take action against the reported user. Apparently, serious monetary loss and wasted marketing / SEO effort are not sufficient cause for WordPress. I am very livid that WordPress has such mediocre and poor policies in place. I really wish I could reach out to some senior person, instead of some “intern” who probably looked at this complaint. The whole “fill a form” thing makes it impossible to have your case examined seriously. I have tried to get through and reason that any paid marketing or SEO that we do will benefit this user as he is in the same line of business. This is absolute nonsense on the part of WordPress / Automattic. You guys really need to take these complaints more seriously. This is not a joke – it hurts the livelihoods and businesses of people.

What part of “the reported user stands to gain as they will benefit from search engine traffic we may generate” do WordPress and Automattic not understand? This person is using the same name and is in the same business. How is this not malicious intent?
I am stunned that WordPress and Automattic are not taking this seriously. Any third person will empathize with my case.

If you are so sure of your case, I advice you to find you a lawyer and go to court against the offender.

They will reply to your email as soon as they can.
As this is a legal matter, we won’t be continuing over the public forums.
