Can someone on the internet use my domain name if I don't upgrade?

    I want to upgrade my domain. I am currently bodyprinciple.wordpress.com since 2009. But someone on the internet since then has taken my name how can I upgrade. More importantly how can they use my name when I already had it since 2009?

    What domain name are you asking about?

    bodyprinciple.com was a valid site back in 2005-2007 but looks like it has been abandoned and is for sale.

    bodyprinciple.wordpress.com is not something you would ‘own’ as such since it’s a subdomain of wordpress.com
